BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Standout front-runner
Aaron Pfeil (Pittsburgh/South Fayette) finished 16
th out of 320 runners in the men's college "brown" race and led the way today for the regionally-ranked Lock Haven University men's cross country team at the prestigious Paul Short Run, hosted by Lehigh.
Pfeil cracked the top-20 in a deep and talented race after covering the 8,000-meter race in 25:04.7
Luke Vanderhoff (Hamburg, N.J./Wall Kill Valley) finished among the top 100 after running 25:40.4. He was 91
st overall.
Brett Pope (Pleasant Gap, Pa./Connections Commonwealth Academy),
Tyler Holcomb (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) and
Mark Matthews (Honey Brook, Pa./Bishop Shanahan) rounded out the Bald Eagles top-five today. Lock Haven finished 33
rd out of 44 total teams in the college brown race.
Pope (232
nd) ran 26:42.2, Holcomb (243
rd) ran 26:52.2 and Matthews covered the course (282
nd) with a time of 27:54.3.
The Bald Eagles – ranked No. 3 in the Atlantic Region (D2) - will return to action on Saturday, October 19 at the Gettysburg Invitational.
