SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Junior
Aaron Pfeil (Pittsburgh/South Fayette) of the Lock Haven University men's cross country team cracked the top-100 today in his NCAA Championship debut.
Competing today, at the 2019 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Sacramento, California, Pfeil placed 90
th in the deep field (90
th out of 263 finishers) with a time of 31:27.7.
Today's men's 10,000-meter championship race was held at the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course, located at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. This year, California State University, Sacramento and the Sacramento Sports Commission served as co-hosts for the championship meet.
Pfeil, a two-time All-Atlantic Region performer, qualified for the national championships by way of his second place finish at the 2019 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championship on November 9.
In late October, he was fourth overall at the 2019 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships, and today's race on Division II's biggest stage closed an all-around brilliant 2019 season.
