Zack Skrabski turned in a big-time race today for The Haven men.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Aaron Pfeil (Pittsburgh/South Fayette) finished third overall and was one of two Bald Eagles in the top-10, as that duo powered a strong front-running pack which led the regionally-ranked Lock Haven University men's cross country team to the team title today at the 2019 LHU Invite.

In what proved to be the largest collegiate meet ever hosted by LHU and one of the biggest ever run in the region, the Bald Eagles showed their depth and dominated on their home turf.

As a team, Lock Haven, ranked No. 6 in the latest NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings, bested the large 32 team field and knocked off several teams ranked ahead of them. The Bald Eagles scored 81 points, thanks to Pfeil's third-place finish, a pair of runners in the top-10 and four finishers among the top-25.

The Penn State Club Team showed well and took second overall and Division I Bucknell was third. Davis & Elkins was fourth and IUP was fifth.

The LHU men knocked off Davis & Elkins, Shippensburg and Edinboro, all teams ranked in the top-five of the region and ahead of Lock Haven entering today's action.

Pfeil was third out of 373 total runners and covered the 8,000-meter course with a career-best 25:07.0.

Luke Vanderhoff (Hamburg, N.J./Wall Kill Valley) finished among the top-10 in seventh with an impressive time of 25:37.4.

John Davern (Manchester, N.J/Manchester) paced the large field early and provided another strong finisher for Lock Haven. He was 17th overall land scored in 16th place with a time of 25:55.2.

Zack Skrabski (Pittsburgh/South Park) stepped up in a big way and placed 23rd (scored 22nd) with a strong time of 26:03.2. He was Lock Haven's fourth runner among the field's top-25.

The trio of Hunter Confair (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run), Brett Pope (Pleasant Gap, Pa./Connections Commonwealth Academy) and Tyler Holcomb (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) was equally as important today. They all cracked the top-85 in the deep and talented field.

Confair was 34th (scored 33rd) with a time of 26:21.1, Pope was 71st (scored 67th) with a time of 27:00.5 and Holcomb was 84th (scored 76th) with at time of 27:08.4.

On Saturday, October 5, LHU will return to action at the 2019 Paul Short Invitational, hosted by Lehigh.
