DiSomma’s overtime winner powers Men’s soccer past Bloomsburg

The LHU men’s soccer team defeated Bloomsburg 2-1 in double overtime.

BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Making the short trip down Interstate 80, the Lock Haven University men's soccer team (3-5, 1-2 PSACE) defeated arch rival Bloomsburg (3-4, 2-2 PSACE) in double overtime picking up a huge three points.

Andrea DiSomma (Lancaster, Pa./ Manheim Township) proved to be the difference for the Bald Eagles as his two goals give Lock Haven the 2-1win over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) rival Bloomsburg.

After recording three shots in the first half, DiSomma was able to put the Bald Eagles up 1-0 during the second half in the 58th minute of play. Ivo Klaric (Vienna, Austria/University of Vienna) was credited with the helper as he played a ball into the box allowing DiSomma to fire a one time shot past the Bloomsburg goalie.

With 10 minutes left to go in the game, the Huskies tied the game at 1-1 sending the game into OT.

In the first over time, LHU remained on the attack firing away three shots to Bloomsburg's one. In the second extra frame DiSomma scored his second of the game giving Lock Haven their first conference win of the season.

Six minutes into double overtime, Shane Colegrove (Athens, Pa./ Athens) made a beautiful run up the left wing then playing a perfect ball to DiSomma who completed the play by beating the Husky keeper with a one-time blast.

For the Bald Eagles, Camden Cook (Rosedale, Md./High Point) was fantastic in goal recording eight saves. The eight saves marks a season and career high for the senior goal keeper.
