ITHACA, N.Y. – The Lock Haven University field hockey team (2-2) and Cornell University (2-0) needed double-overtime to settle the score today and in the end the host Big Red found the game-winner and slipped by the Bald Eagles, 3-2 (2OT), in a non-conference thriller.
Cornell opened the season yesterday with a big win as the Big Red secured a 2-1 upset-win over No. 18 Syracuse at home. The Bald Eagles entered today's game coming off a hard-fought comeback-win at Colgate Friday night. LHU won at Colgate 3-2.
