ERIE, Pa. –The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (4-3, 1-2 PSAC) came up short in the final minutes against Gannon University (5-2, 2-1 PSAC) on Tuesday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East-West crossover matchup by a final score of 77-71.

Both sides got off to a hot start, and racked up 77 total points in the first half. Gannon shot 51 percent from the field compared to Lock Haven's 42 percent and was able to build up a 43-34 lead going into the halftime break.

Early in the second half, the Knights stretched their largest lead of the game to 13 points at 63-50. The Bald Eagles battled back and with under three minutes to play were able draw within two points on a
Jesse McPherson (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) three-point play. Down the stretch, Gannon responded with two quick buckets and got a late steal to pull away for a 77-71 victory.

DaQuan Granberry (Linwood, Pa./Chichester) led four Bald Eagles in double figures with 16 points and hauled in seven rebounds. McPherson added 14 points on 6-10 from the field and also grabbed six boards.

MarkAnthony Fidelis (Largo, Md./DeMatha) and
Dymir Montague (Philadelphia, Pa./Neumann-Goretti) rounded out Lock Haven scoring with 12 and 11, respectively. Fidelis grabbed seven boards of his own and Montague chipped in with five rebounds and two assists.

Depsite the loss, LHU held an advantage in shooting percentage at 46.4 compared to Gannon's 42.9 percent. Gannon, however, grabbed a decisive 45-33 lead in the rebounding department.
