LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (17-15) extended its win streak to five games after sweeping visiting D'Youville (14-18) today (Sun.). Lock Haven won game one 9-3 and completed the sweep with an 8-2 victory in game two.
Yesterday (Sat.), the two teams opened the weekend series with a single, nine-inning game, and Lock Haven won, 8-4.
With the three-game sweep over D'Youville in the books, the Bald Eagles have pushed themselves back over the .500 mark on the season at 17-15 overall. Lock Haven improved to 8-4 at home as the five straight wins have all come on the friendly confines of Watkins Field. LHU has won eight of its last 10 games overall.

The Bald Eagles jumped on D'Youville early in game one today and led 5-1 after one inning. In all, Lock Haven scored nine runs on nine hits which included a three-RBI double from
Zach Kaatz (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) in the first.
Starting-pitcher
Aedan Walter (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) was fantastic and went the distance on the way to the complete-game victory. He struck out five and walked only one.
Francisco Taveras (Muhlenberg, Pa./Muhlenberg (Lehigh Carbon CC)) was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and
Justin Lichtenwalner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Game 2 Recap: Lock Haven 8 – D'Youville 2
Garrett Nepert (Preston, Md./Colonel Richardson (Chesapeake County CC)) hit a two-run home run in the first to make it 3-0 and Lock Haven led 7-1 after two innings as another quick start powered Lock Haven to the win, and the sweep.
LHU scored eight runs on 11 total hits in game two and pitching was again a part of the story.
David Keller (Oreland, Pa/Christopher Dock Mennonite) picked up the complete-game win, thanks to three strikeouts and just five hits.
Taveras was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Nepert and
Tom Rohan (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross) finished with two hits each.

The Bald Eagles will host Clarion on Tuesday, April 18 at 2 p.m. in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East-West Crossover. The two teams were originally scheduled to play a doubleheader, but they will now play one, nine-inning game at 2 p.m. on LHU's Watkins Field Tuesday.
