Baseball Takes Game 1, Splits at Shippensburg

Bald Eagles split doubleheader today, take two of three games from Shippensburg to win important PSAC East series.

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven University baseball team (12-15, 5-10 PSAC East) won game one today at Shippensburg University (19-17, 7-8 PSAC East) and the two teams split an important Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader.

The Bald Eagles won game one, 4-3, but LHU dropped game two, 8-6 as Shippensburg salvaged a win in the three-game series that started Friday in The Haven. Yesterday, the Bald Eagles rolled to a 6-2 win over Shippensburg, ranked No. 7 in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Atlantic Region Top-10 poll.

Today's game-one victory helped Lock Haven take the series as LHU won two of three. The stretch run is on for the Bald Eagles as three PSAC East weekend series remain.
