LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
Abby Katrinak (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) totaled nine points to highlight the Lock Haven lacrosse team's impressive, 21-5, bounce back win over Edinboro (2-6, 0-3 PSAC West) on the road on Saturday afternoon (March 30) in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division game.
Lock Haven improved to 8-1 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC this season to continue its best start since 2016.
The 21 goals scored for the Haven are the most this season and the Bald Eagles are now outscoring their opponents 128-91. Lock Haven led 29-11 in shots-on-goal for the afternoon.
Katrinak powered the Bald Eagles on offense as she netted five goals and dished out four assists to total nine points. Katrinak was very efficient, connecting on 5-of-6 shot attempts.
Josey Shaffer (Westminster, Md./Manchester Valley) finished behind Katrinak with four goals, while also dishing out an assist, totaling five points.
Gabby Gunnip (Elbridge, N.Y./Jordan Elbridge) recorded her eighth straight hat-trick on the season as the sophomore found the back of the net three times and dished out two assists.
Brynlee Pinschenat (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) scored twice, while
Emma Williams (Garnet Valley, Pa./Garnet Valley),
Lexi Bunk (Elkton, Md./Elkton),
Abby Hampson (Adamstown, Md./Tuscarora),
Peyton Masters (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty),
Makayla Kelly (Kennett Square, Pa./Kennett),
Kaitlyn Collins (Ringwood, N.J./Lakeland Regional),
Kelsey Schultz (Camphill, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and
Nadia Baskot (Damascus, Md./Damascus) also recorded goals for The Haven.
Dana Mirigliano (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) earned her career-high eighth goalkeeper victory this season after making five saves. Mirigliano now has 69 saves this season to push her career total over 200.
The defense in front of Mirigliano was electric all afternoon long and the unit held the Fighting Scots to five goals, the lowest allowed by Lock Haven this season.
Shaffer, Mirigliano and Collins each scooped up three ground balls, while forced a game-high three turnovers.
