Miller clean sheet lifts Women's Soccer to tie at ESU

The Bald Eagles traveled to East Stroudsburg University for a PSAC Eastern Division clash on Wednesday night.

EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – Standout defense and a clean sheet by Megan Miller led the Lock Haven women's soccer team to a 0-0 tie at East Stroudsburg in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match on Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 25).
 
With the tie, the Bald Eagles move to 1-2-3 overall and 1-2-1 (4 points) in the PSAC East. The Warriors move to 3-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 (eight points) in the East. Both programs pick up one point in the Eastern Division standings.
 
The tie also snaps an eight-game skid for Lock Haven at the hands of East Stroudsburg. The Warriors were ranked as high as No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 this season.
 
Miller made a game-high 11 saves and the Lock Haven defense withheld a game-high 26 shots and nine corner opportunities to keep the Warriors off the board and clinch the scoreless-tie on the road.
 
Miller matched her career-high of 11 saves, while securing her third shutout of the season. The junior made six saves in the first half, before adding five more in the second.
 
Evelyn Ciaccia led the Lock Haven attack with three shots, including two on net.
