MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Lock Haven volleyball team swept Millersville (4-13, 0-4 PSAC) in straight sets Friday evening (Oct. 10), earning a decisive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division victory behind a well-balanced offense and aggressive serving. The Bald Eagles (4-12, 2-3 PSAC) posted set scores of 25-12, 25-22 and 25-19 to claim their second conference win of the season.?
Junior outside hitter
Maddie Mitchell powered the offense with a match-high 11 kills, while
Gracelynn Wolzen and
Avery Smith contributed nine and seven kills respectively, helping Lock Haven tally 42 team kills to Millersville's 20.
Madelyn Wagner distributed 18 assists and
Gabby Gealey added 13.
The Bald Eagles were relentless from the service line, picking up 14 aces, including four apiece from
Olivia Taylor and Wagner. Lock Haven's service pressure put Millersville on its heels throughout the match, forcing key errors and limiting the Marauders' ability to mount sustained comebacks.?
Defensively, Lock Haven limited Millersville to a .125 hitting percentage, with
Natalie Acevedo leading the team with 11 digs. Smith and Gealey registered two blocks each, thwarting multiple Marauder attacks at the net.?
