Volleyball rallies late, downs Roberts Wesleyan 3-2

The Bald Eagles comeback to win after falling down 2-0 against Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday (Oct. 25)

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's volleyball team rallied from down 2-0 against Roberts Wesleyan this Saturday (Oct. 25) and picked up a 3-2 comeback victory at home. The Bald Eagles won 3-2 (22-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16, 15-11) in an exciting non-conference match.

With the victory, Lock Haven has won three of its last four matches to improve to 7-14 overall, while Roberts Wesleyan falls to 2-18.

The entire team stepped up for The Haven, while Maddie Mitchell led the offense with a team-high 13 kills. Mitchell added 20 digs as well. Lola Coulter and Avery Smith also added 11 kills.

Madelyn Wagner (24 assists) and Gabby Gealey (21 assists) played their part on offense as well, combining for 45 of the team's 53 assists.

Natalie Acevedo and Olivia Taylor each had four service aces.

Lock Haven led Roberts Wesleyan in kills over the first two sets (21-18), despite dropping them.

The Haven turned things around in the third set, led by 11 kills, while taking advantage of eight Redhawk errors.

The momentum soared Lock Haven to victories in the ensuing two sets, clinching the Bald Eagle win.

At the net, Layla Katschilo and Smith each had four blocks, with Gealey posting two as well.

Taylor led the team in digs with 27. 

Next Up

The Bald Eagles come back tomorrow (Sunday, Oct. 26) to the Thomas Field House and host Wilmington (Del.) at 1 p.m.
