Matthew Muthler broke the Lock Haven men's track and field program record in the Heptathlon to headline a standout day for the Bald Eagles at the two-day Bison Open & Multi, hosted by Bucknell University on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 31-Feb. 1.

Running Highlights
Muthler scored 4975 points to break a 14-year program record in the heptathlon for the Bald Eagles. Muthler sealed the record and event victory by running a 2:36.24, which broke a Bucknell facility record by eight seconds. Muthler's score is a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and NCAA provisional mark, ranking in the top-20 in the country.
Muthler's hep high jump of 6-5 is also a PSAC qualifier and is ranked No. 14 all-time in program history.
Muthler was one of three first-place finishes for the Bald Eagles, on a weekend filled with personal bests, PSAC marks and program top-10 finishes.
Program-record holder in the 60-meter hurdles,
Josiah Schans ran to first place with a time of 8.28.
Schans, Kravetz (8.47, PSAC), Reinard (8.48) and
Jorge Santana (8.66) brought home four of the top five spots during the race.
In the mile,
Jakob Rager (4:21.31, PSAC) and
Gavin Furey (4:23.83, PSAC) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.
Owen Hibell hit his first PSAC time of the season in the 3000-meter to place seventh (8:47.93).
Ryan Miller won the 500-meter and moved up to ninth all-time in Lock Haven history with a time of 1:06.92.
Morgan Gavitt joined him on the podium in third place with a time of 1:08.25.
The 4x400-meter relay team of
Brennan Miller, Reinard,
Aydan Summers and Miller brought home gold with a time of 3:24.60.
The quartet of Furey, Miller, Gavitt and Rager ran the 18
th fastest distance medley relay in the country with a time of 10:31.8.
Field Event Highlights
In the weight throw, Zalar finished second with a throw of 59-07.25, securing the sixth-best mark in program history.
Ben Streator placed third in the high jump with a mark of 5-10.75.
In the triple jump,
Chase Young finished in the top-10 with a leap of 41-01.50.
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles return to action on Saturday, Feb. 8 and will travel to Utica, Pennsylvania to compete in the Blue & Orange Invite.
