BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Saturday, March 2) –
Matthew Muthler won the heptathlon, set a new conference record and was honored as the Outstanding Field Athlete to headline an impressive day for the Lock Haven men's track & field team at the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships.
The Bald Eagles totaled 61 points to end the PSAC Championships in fifth place. Shippensburg (167 points) led the way, with East Stroudsburg (121.6 points) and Slippery Rock (118 points) coming in at second and third, respectively.

Heptathlon Highlights
Muthler won gold in the heptathlon after scoring 5266 points to break the PSAC record set last year. He also broke the Lock Haven program record for the second time this season. It was a tight contest on the second day where he dropped to second after the pole vault portion. He secured the hep victory after finishing first with a time of 2:36.00 in the last event, the 1000-meter. His efforts scored ten team points.
Muthler's scored ranks seventh in the country and will earn him a trip to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Indianapolis on March 13 and 14.
Nick Bellomo finished the heptathlon in fourth with a personal best and NCAA provisional score of 4832 points and notched five team points. His podium finish moved the sophomore to third all-time on the Lock Haven record list in the heptathlon. Bellomo finished first in pole vault with a height of 4.35-meters (14-03.25) and third in the 1000-meter with a time of 2:50.40.
Running Highlights
Miller secured a podium spot and All-Conference honor by bringing home silver in the 400-meter finals with a time of 49.63. The finish secured eight team points.
Miller also competed in the 200-meter finals today, scoring three team points, where he finished sixth with a time of 22.55.
Austin Kravetz competed in the finals in the 60-meter hurdles finishing fifth with a time of 8.39, scoring four team points.
Morgan Gavitt and
Anden Atkins scored seven team points in the 800-meter where they finished fourth and seventh with times of 1:56.42 and 1:57.50, respectively.

Aydan Summers,
Cameron Lewis and
Ryan Miller scored five team points with a fourth-place finish with a time of 3:24.32 in the 4x400-meter relay.
In the mile,
Gavin Furey finished with a time of 4:25.59.
Field Highlights
Eric Zalar and
Nathan Fetchkan competed in the shot put and finished with throws of 14.42-meters (47-03.75) and 13.89 (45-07.00), respectively.
In the triple jump,
Chase Young jumped to a distance of 12.50-meters (41-00.25).
