LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven baseball team hosted Slippery Rock in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division doubleheader at Watkins Field on Friday afternoon. The Bald Eagles fell 8-4 in game one and 8-2 in game two.
With the result, the Bald Eagles move to 12-21 overall and 2-11 in the PSAC West. The Rock improves to 20-11 on the season and 9-5 in the conference.
Game 1 Recap: Slippery Rock 8, Lock Haven 4
In game one, Slippery Rock scored seven runs in the first inning and led 8-0 through three frames.
Lock Haven's pitching settled in from there, putting zeros the rest of the way, and the offense cut the deficit in half with three runs in the fourth and a solo run in the fifth.

Robert Furino,
Bryce Vincent and
Jake Ambrosio drove in runs during the rally.
However, The Rock shut the door in the sixth and seventh inning to secure the victory.
For Lock Haven, Vincent finished 2-for-3 and
Zachary McEllroy added a double.
Brady Myers tossed five innings of quality relief and allowed just one run and stuck out two.
Game 2 Recap:
In the nightcap, The Rock's offense continued to stay hot and used a 3-run second inning to take an early lead.
The Haven scored run in the bottom of the third, but The Rock responded with three more runs over their next two at-bats to go extend the lead to 6-1.
The Haven again scored a solo run in the sixth, but The Rock again countered with two runs in the top of the eighth to put the game out of reach.
Lock Haven recorded four hits by four different players and Furino drove in a run. McEllroy and
Nathan Wise scored the two Haven runs.
Jason Labrador got the start on the mound for the Bald Eagles and went five innings with a pair of strikeouts.
Evan Schmelz pitched a scoreless inning in relief and fanned all three Slippery Rock hitters.
