Lacrosse falls to Slippery Rock in regular season finale; Set to begin PSAC Tournament play on Tuesday

The Bald Eagles traveled to Slippery Rock for their 2025 regular season finale; set to begin postseason action on Tuesday

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Lock Haven lacrosse team fell to Slippery Rock 18-11 in the program's final game of the 2025 regular season on Saturday afternoon. The Bald Eagles have clinched the No. 3 seed in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division and are set to begin postseason play on Tuesday.
 
Lock Haven finished the regular season with a 9-7 overall mark and a 6-4 record in the PSAC West. The Bald Eagles are the No. 3 seed in the Western Division in the 2025 PSAC Championship Tournament and will travel to No. 2 Seton Hill for the quarterfinals at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
 
Slippery Rock finished the regular season 15-1 overall and a perfect 10-0 in conference play to secure the No. 1 seed in the PSAC West.
 
Lock Haven went goal-for-goal with the top-seeded Rock in the first quarter and trailed by only one (5-4) after 15 minutes of play.
 
However, The Rock used a 7-2 advantage in the second to create separation heading into the break.
 
SRU extended its lead to 16-8 after the third period to ultimately put the game out of reach.
 
After making 23 saves in her last outing, Lock Haven goalkeeper Gretchen King had another strong showing on Saturday and finished with 14 saves. King finished the regular season with 173 saves, which ranks third all-time in program history.
 
Gabby Gunnip led the offensive attack with five goals and one assist, while adding two draw controls.
 
Makayla Kelly followed suite with a team-high seven points as she totaled three goals and a game-high four assists.
 
Hadley Munn, Nadia Baskot and Emma Williams also scored goals, while Baskot and Williams dished out assists.
 
Kaitlyn Collins and Nadia Baskot scooped up a team-high four ground balls, while Collins and Sarah Osmun both caused a team-high three turnovers.
