SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Lock Haven men's basketball team (7-12, 3-9 PSAC) fell on the road to Shippensburg (10-9, 4-8 PSAC) 85-69 in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East contest on Thursday night.
Luke Kennevan led Lock Haven with a team-high 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor while adding five rebounds.
Dyllon Scott joined him in double figures with 14 points, knocking down three 3-pointers and grabbing four boards.
Blake Deegan added nine points and a team-best seven rebounds and
Devon Nelson chipped in eight points off the bench.
Shippensburg used a hot-shooting first half to seize control, shooting 69 percent from the field and 53 percent from 3-point range in the opening 20 minutes to build a 51-29 halftime lead. The Raiders finished the night at 52 percent from the floor and hit nine 3-pointers.
Lock Haven battled after the break, outscoring the Raiders 40-34 in the second half. The Bald Eagles shot 39 percent from the field and 88 percent (15-of-17) at the free-throw line for the game, improving to 93 percent at the stripe in the second half. Lock Haven also held a 32-28 edge in bench and second-chance production combined, getting 15 bench points and nine second-chance points.
Scott and
Mike Green each knocked down a trio of 3-pointers as Lock Haven finished 6-of-19 from beyond the arc.
Keith Warren scored six points and handed out an assist, while
Dean Coleman-Newsome totaled seven points, two rebounds and one assist.
Defensively, the Bald Eagles came up with seven steals, including two from Warren.
