Schans named PSAC Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week

Record-breaker Josiah Schans was tabbed PSAC Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week by the conference office on Tuesday.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – After his Lock Haven record-breaking time in the 110m Hurdles, Josiah Schans of the Lock Haven men's track and field team was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday, March 24.
 
The Bald Eagles opened outdoor competition at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitation in Myrtle Beach, S.C., this past weekend where Josiah Schans broke the Lock Haven program record in 110m Hurdles.

Josiah Schans finished the event in a blazing time of 14.20. The time was an NCAA provisional mark along with a PSAC qualifier. He finished second out of 46 competitors as he beat out all NCAA Division II competition and many NCAA Division I racers.

Schans' time currently sits in seventh place in the nation in the 110m Hurdles.

Schans also earned a PSAC Championships qualifier in the 400m Hurdles by finishing in 56.27.

Next Up:
The Lock Haven men's outdoor track and field team will compete again on Friday (March 27) and Saturday (March 28) at the Jim Taylor Duals at Susquehanna University.
