GREENVILLE, Tenn. - The Lock Haven softball team traveled to Tennessee on Friday afternoon for a non-conference doubleheader at Tusculum. The Pioneers swept the day, 1-0 (8 innings) and 4-3.

Game 1: Tusculum 1, Lock Haven 0 (8 Innings)
Game one featured a pitcher's dual with neither team scoring over the opening seven innings.

Talia Ross (2-1) was once again dominant on the mound for The Haven and went 7.2 innings, while not allowing an earned run and adding nine strikeouts.

The Pioneers scratched across the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning on a wild pitch to walk it off.

Four different Bald Eagles recorded hits, highlighted by a double by
Hailey Irwin. Â

Game 2: Tusculum 4, Lock Haven 3
In the nightcap, Tusculum score two runs in the first, before plating solo runs in the third and fourth innings to build an early 4-0 advantage.

Lock Haven responded in the top of the fifth with a three-spot to cut its deficit to one with two at-bats to go. Irwin doubled to left center to get The Haven on the board, before
Madison Melius knocked in a pair with a single to make it 4-3.

However, Lock Haven left the equalizing run stranded in both of the final two innings and the Pioneers held on for the victory.

Six different Bald Eagles found the hit column, while
Maci Brodzina,
Olivia LaMeau and Melius all recorded two base knocks.

Faith Persing (1-1) allowed two earned runs through two innings, before handing the ball to
Keiva Middleton, who tossed the final four frames and allowed just one earned run and struck out a pair.
