BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven baseball team traveled to Bloomsburg for a single, nine-inning battle and despite a valiant comeback effort, fell 11-10 in walk-off fashion.
Lock Haven homered twice and tied the game at 10-10 with a four-run ninth inning, however, Bloomsburg escaped with the win after walking it off in the bottom of the ninth.
The Huskies jumped to an early 7-0 lead after a seven-run second inning.
The Haven clawed back, scoring six of their own in the fourth.
Cayden Robertson drove in a run to start the scoring for Lock Haven, and back-to-back RBI knocks from Gardner Fravel and Jerry Lambert cut the lead to 7-3.
Braden Cummings took a bases-loaded walk, which brought in another run, before Zachary McEllroy drove in two more runs, to cut the deficit to one, 7-6.
In the back third of the game, Bloomsburg held The Haven scoreless, while adding three more runs to push its lead to 10-6 entering the ninth.
Jaxson Pupo and Cayde McCloskey reached base, which led to another Nick Negola three-run blast, to cut the lead to one. This was the second home run for Negloa in as many games, each serving as three run jacks.
The Bald Eagles tied it on the next swing, as Robertson deposited his fourth big fly of the season over the left field wall.
However, Bloomsburg walked it off in the ninth for an 11-10 final.
For The Haven, Brady Myers was great in relief as the sophomore went six innings, allowing three runs on six hits, and struck out three.
