LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) released its 2026 Women's Soccer Preseason Polls on Wednesday, Aug. 12, as voted on by the league's coaches.
 
Lock Haven will compete in the Western Division in 2026 and is predicted by the league's coaches to finish sixth.

Slippery Rock was voted No. 1 in the PSAC Western Division Women's Soccer Preseason Poll, collecting five first-place votes. In 2025, The Rock finished 12-4-1 overall (12-1-1 PSAC) and return a trio of All-Conference Second Team honorees in defender Kailyn Schulte, midfielder Sophia Palermo (two goals, eight assists), and goalkeeper Leah Allman (six shutouts in 2025.)
 
Voted No. 2 in the poll with four first-place votes, Gannon (16-3-2 overall, 11-1-2 PSAC) scored a West-leading 61 goals last fall. The Golden Knights return much of that offensive firepower, including Brooklyn Respecki (10 goals, eight assists), Grace Emanuel (six goals, 10 assists), Olivia Dixon (eight goals, five assists), and Jessie Watkins (five goals, eight assists.)

No. 3 IUP (14-3-2 overall, 11-2-1 PSAC) only allowed a PSAC-best 11 goals last season and return PSAC Western Division Defensive Player of the Year Emma Hays to lead the defense. Also back are three additional All-Conference honorees: First Team midfielder Paige Fausey, Second Team defender Sydney Leach, and Second Team forward Emily Lattea, who scored 14 goals and assisted on two others last fall.
 
Edinboro (8-9-1 overall, 6-7-1 PSAC) is the No. 4 team in this year's poll. Jada Cole (10 goals, two assists) returns after earning the PSAC West Freshman of the Year and PSAC First Team All-Conference honors, as does Second Team midfielder Sonoka Shiokawa.

No. 5 Seton Hill, No. 6 Lock Haven, No. 7 Clarion, No. 8 Pitt-Johnstown, and No. 9 California round out the rest of the poll.
 
A Look Back at 2025
The 2025 season marked the second under Bald Eagle head coach Jesse Urquhart.
 
The Haven finished 4-10-2 overall and 2-10-2 in the PSAC, totaling eight points to land in eighth place during its final season competing in the Eastern Division.  
 
Following the season, Emily Reeve (Defense) and Leana Cuzzocrea (Midfield) were named to the Women's Soccer All-PSAC Second Team.
 
Incoming Class
The Bald Eagles welcome 9 student-athletes from Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Oregon.

From Coach Urquhart: As we've gone through the recruiting process, I've had the opportunity to watch these players compete, get to know them, and learn what drives them both on and off the field. We've discussed not only my vision for the future of the program, but the student-athlete experience we provide for our Lock Haven soccer players! They were recruited to join a team of hardworking, competitive, coachable people who are committed to being part of something bigger than themselves. They each bring their own talents, but it's their character, ambition, and passion for soccer that made them the right fit for Lock Haven Women's Soccer.
 
The Road Ahead
The Bald Eagles will play 19 regular-season matches, including 10 contests at Hubert Jack Stadium. Lock Haven opens the season on Thursday, Aug. 27, at Millersville before traveling to Slippery Rock on Sunday, Aug. 30.
 
Lock Haven's home opener is set for Wednesday, Sept. 2, against Charleston at 1 p.m. The Bald Eagles will host California (Pa.) for Senior Day on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 1 p.m.
 
The schedule features home matches against Charleston, California (Pa.), Edinboro, Pitt-Johnstown, Clarion, Seton Hill, Mansfield, Gannon, Indiana (Pa.) and Slippery Rock.
 
The Bald Eagles close the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 28, with a road match at Seton Hill
