Lock Haven Athletics

2011: Coming into his final season, Josh finished 8^th at the Dolan Duals this year with a time of 18:14.99 and also took a sixth place finish at the 2011 Division II Challenge hosted by Kutztown University with a time of 26:21. At the LHU Invite Josh had a strong finish placing 9^th with a time of 26:35.80. He also finished 168^th out of 402 runners at the 38^th-annual Paul Short Run with a time of 25:53 and finished 54^th at the Penn State National Meet.  At the PSAC Championships, Josh finished in 14^th place with a time of 25:24.3 and at the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championships he had an impressive 9^th place overall covering the 10K course in 32:46 and earned All-Region status by placing in the top-25. At the NCAA Division II National Championships, he had a top-100 showing placing 94^th overall with a time of 33:23.3.

2010: Had a solid season for the Bald Eagles.  Josh finished 5^th in the LHU Invite, 6^th at the Dickinson College Long Course Invite, 6^th at the LHU River Run, 33^rd at the PSAC Championships, and 29^th at the Atlantic Region Championships.  He will look to continue his success in 2011.

2009: Made great strides from his freshman year...Earned a 19th place finish at the Mountaineer Flatland Invitational at Mansfield...Finished 73rd at the highly competitive Penn State National Meet...Landed a spot on the PSAC Championship team. 

2008: Had his rookie year at the Haven cut short by injury…had solid races at the Lock Haven Invitational and the Bloomsburg Invitational, taking 14th and 16th respectively.

Prior to Lock Haven: Attended Akron University...competed in track and cross country

In High School: Cross Country team MVP and captain...Four-time state medalist...holds high school's indoor mile and 4x800 relay school record.

Personal: Son of Richard and Janice Gainer...Born September 15, 1988...Majoring in Sports Administration.
