Alex Monroe (Lewistown, Pa./Indian Valley) of Lock Haven University cross country team has been named the www.GoLHU.com Male Athlete of the Week.

Earlier in the week Monroe was named the PSAC men’s cross country Athlete of the Week.
It marks the third straight week that Monroe received the honor.

Monroe finished 17th overall in the Gold Race (top flight) on Saturday at the prestigious Brooks-Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh.

Monroe crossed the 8K finish line in a remarkable 24:30 and led the Bald Eagles to a 24th place team finish in a deep and talented field loaded with top Division I teams.

Monroe was the top Division II finisher and took 17th out of 332 total runners.

Monroe and the cross country team’s next race will be October 13 at the Gettysburg Invitational.
