LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University men's basketball team had a completely new look and feel when it took the court tonight under head coach Mike Nestor, who was making his coaching debut, but the Bald Eagles (0-1) were edged out 80-70 by visiting Ashland University (1-0) in a hard-fought battle.

Freshman Terrell Johnson (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter) scored a team-high 17 points to lead four Bald Eagles in double figures in the scoring column.

Lock Haven, who only returned three players from last year, featured a completely new starting five, which included four true-freshmen and a junior-transfer.

Despite the youth and fresh faces, it didn't take long for LHU to feel at home in front of the home crowd and the Bald Eagles raced out to an early 13-6 lead seven minutes into the contest.

LHU led by six at the break 37-31, but an Ashland run midway through the second half proved too much for The Haven to overcome down the stretch.

Sophomore Jace Keller (Martinsburg, Pa./Central) matched his career-high with 15 points tonight. He was 6-for-9 from the field and hit a pair of three's.

Johnson was 8-for-15 from the field and also dished out four assists to go along with four steals.

Andre Rivers (Philadelphia/Girard College) and Lucas Mosca (Baltimore/Towson) added 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Rivers was an impressive 10-for-14 from the three-throw line. He also had five rebounds and four assists.

Mosca hit a pair of three-pointers and also grabbed eight rebounds.

Junior Armandi Marshall (Philadelphia/Olney East) led LHU on the glass as he pulled down a career-high nine rebounds. His nine boards were also a game-high.

Tonight marked the season-opener for both teams.

Ashland was led by freshman Paul Honingford, who scored a game-high 20 points.

Lock Haven hits the road this weekend for a pair of games. The Bald Eagles will take on Bloomsburg Saturday (November 19) and Mansfield on Sunday (November 20). Both games start at 3 p.m.
