Setting the scene:
The Lady Eagles will play in one of two PSAC semifinal matches on Friday, April 29 at West Chester University, the host and top-seed for this year's tournament.
LHU will take on East Stroudsburg Friday at 4 p.m.
No. 12 Mercyhurst and No. 6 WCU will meet in the other semifinal on Friday at 1 p.m.
The Championship match is set for Saturday at 1 p.m.
How they got here:
The Lady Eagles enjoyed another sensational regular season. LHU went 14-2 overall and earned the number-two seed thanks to a 10-1 PSAC record.
Lock Haven opened the season with 13 straight wins.
All year Lock Haven has combined an explosive offense attack that is outscoring opponents 256-92, +164) with a defensive unit that has caused 185 turnovers.
Allison Berger (Oreland, Pa./Springfield) and
Kayleigh Johnson (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) have been carrying the bulk of the offensive load. Berger has a team-high 71 points (26 goals & 45 assists), while Johnson has 66 points (17 goals & 49 assists).
Johnson's 49 assists lead the conference and are sixth-best in the nation.
Defensively, LHU is being led by senior
Katie Zichelli (South Orange, N.J./Columbia), who is making a case for national player of the year honors. She leads the nation in caused turnovers with 56 (3.50/game) and she is ranked second in ground balls with 76. Both her caused turnovers and ground balls lead the PSAC.
Jamie Uzialko (Lima, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) has been on a torrid scoring streak all year and leads LHU with 40 goals.

Heather Sacko (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) has been sensational all year. She's 13-2 with a 6.26 goals against average and a .506 save percentage. Her 6.26 GAA leads the PSAC and is third-best in the nation.
Lock Haven's only loss was to rival-West Chester.
LHU has lost the last two meetings with the Golden Rams. LHU lost 13-12 this year and was downed 9-8 in OT in last year's NCAA semifinal match.
Lock Haven is the two-time defending PSAC Champions. The Haven's 2009 PSAC title snapped a five-year streak of West Chester titles dating back to 2004.
A look at the opposition:
East Stroudsburg Warriors – The Warriors enter their match with LHU coming off a dominating 16-8 win over Gannon in Tuesday's PSAC Quarterfinal.
ESU is 10-8 overall and went 6-5 in PSAC action to earn the No. 6 seed.
Lock Haven took down ESU 17-6 on the road back on March 25.
The Warriors are led by Molly O'Hara's team-best 71 points. She has 54 goals on the year.
ESU received votes in this week's IWLCA poll.
West Chester Golden Rams – West Chester is ranked No. 6 nationally is 14-3 on the season. The Golden Rams went 11-0 in conference play to claim the regular season title and the No. 1 seed in this weekend's PSAC Tournament.
West Chester is led by a trio of players that have over 50 points including Shannon Hayes (64 pts.), Claire Grimwood (58 pts.) and Tori Dugan (50 pts.)
West Chester has won a conference-best 20 titles.
Mercyhurst Lakers – The Lakers went 13-5 on the season and 7-4 in conference play. MC is ranked No. 12 nationally and is the tournament's No. 5 seed.
The Lakers are coming off a 13-10 win over Bloomsburg in Tuesday's quarterfinal action.
MC is led by Kimberly Masterson's team-high 80 points. She has 53 goals and 27 assists.
Lock Haven picked up a lopsided win over the Lakers back on April 9 as the Lady Eagles won going away, 17-1.
Lock Haven's last time at the PSAC Championships:
Last year at West Chester, LHU won its second straight PSAC title, thanks to a dominating 16-6 win over host-WCU.
LHU was led by
Kate Smyth (Levittown, Pa./Pennsbury), who had two goals and four assists.
Johnson added two goals and one helper.
In the PSAC semifinal, Lock Haven dismantled Bloomsburg 20-5.
Johnson and Berger both had four goals.
Johnson added five assists and Berger tallied three to lead The Haven.
