Bald Eagles look sharp; shutout rival ESU 3-0 at home

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (6-2, 4-1 PSAC) shutout rival East Stroudsburg University (1-6-1, 0-3-1 PSAC) today 3-0 to move into first place in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) standings.
 
The win puts the Bald Eagles two points ahead of California (Pa.) University.
 
Senior Billy Pasukinis (Benton, Pa./Benton) started the scoring off for The Haven in the 41st minute as he collected a rebound off of the crossbar and headed it back into the net.
 
The Bald Eagles led 1-0 at halftime.
 
Senior Greg Shertzer (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) made a tremendous hustle play in the 53rd  minute as he raced past the defense, beat the goalie to the ball and headed it into the net for Lock Haven's second goal.
 
Shertzer's goal was set up by Senior Kevin Wolfe (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) who made a great crossing pass.
 
Wolfe turned from passer to scorer in the 65th minute as he capped off the scoring with a free kick from 22 yards out and bent it around the goal keeper into the upper far post for the goal.
 
Junior goal keeper Chad Badorf (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) made five saves in net for the Bald Eagles.
 
The Bald Eagles are back in action tomorrow when they host Bloomsburg University at Hubert Jack Stadium at 3 p.m.
