Last time out (Binghamton Open/Sunday, Nov. 11):
The Bald Eagles put forth a very solid early-season effort on Sunday at the Binghamton Open and LHU head coach Robbie Waller has a lot to be excited about as The Haven hits the mats Friday night for their first taste of dual-match action.

Leading the way for LHU on Sunday was junior-transfer Mac Maldarelli (Merrick, N.Y./Nassau C.C.) and senior Harry Turner (Howell, N.J./Howell) led the way for the Bald Eagles as they took second at 149 and 285, respectively.

Maldarelli went 5-1 at 149, while Turner was 3-1 at 285.

Redshirt-freshman Dan Neff (Quarryville, Pa./Solanco) was third at 141,  sophomore Bobby Rehm (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) was fifth at 125 and redshirt-sophomore Jordan Rich (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) was sixth at 149 to round out a sensational effort for the Bald Eagles.

Maldarelli went 5-0 on the way to the final at 149, winning 12-1, 4-0, 8-0, 8-4 and 8-3. In the finals, Maldarelli met the tournament's top-seed in Binghamton's Donnie Vinson. Vinson is ranked No. 4 nationally and won 17-3.

Turner went 3-0 on the way to the finals at 285. He won 8-3, 6-2 and 6-2 on the way to the championship-bout. Turner dropped the title-bout, 9-1 to Penn State's Jon Gingrich.

All-time series:
LHU dominates the all-time series with Shippensburg as the Bald Eagles have won 30 of the 33 matches (30-2-1). Lock Haven won the last meeting, 51-0 in 2001.
LHU controls the all-time series with Rider, 16-4, but Rider has won two straight including the last meeting in 2009 (24-15).
