Bald Eagles fall at Kutztown in PSAC crossover matchup

LHU returns home after holiday break

Box Score KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University men's basketball team (4-4, 2-3 PSAC) fell on the road today, 77-64 to Kutztown (3-7, 2-3 PSAC) in a PSAC crossover matchup.

The Bald Eagles jumped out to an early 10-2 lead to start off the game.  KU answered back however, and with the game tied at 14-14, the Golden Bears went on a 12-3 run to take a 26-17 lead with 6:50 remaining in the opening half.

The Haven cut into the Kutztown lead and trailed just 33-29 at halftime.

The Golden Bears increased their lead throughout the second half, as LHU was unable to stop a balanced KU attack, which saw four players score in double-figures.

Coming off of a 20-point performance last night, Kasheef Festus (Philadelphia/Archbishop Carroll) recorded his third double-double of the season.  The junior forward scored 16 points and added 13 rebounds.

Festus shot 8-for-11 from the free throw line.

Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann Goretti), the PSAC's leading scorer, netted a team-high 18 points.

Senior Andre Rivers (Philadelphia/Girard College) scored in double-figures for the second time this season, as he netted a season-high 13 points.

Dave Garcia (Scotrun, Pa./Pocono Mt. East) netted nine points and added five rebounds for LHU.

Kenny Battle and Micah Fraction led KU with 18 and 17 points, respectively.

The Bald Eagles return to the court after the holiday break, when they host Cheyney on Friday, December 4 and West Chester on Saturday, December 5.
