Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Sophomore
Wali Hepburn (Philadelphia/Neumann Goretti) scored 33 points and grabbed 14 rebounds tonight, but the Lock Haven University men's basketball team (5-5, 3-4 PSAC) fell at home to West Chester (7-4, 5-2 PSAC), 84-74 in PSAC action at Thomas Fieldhouse.
Hepburn, who entered tonight's game as the leading scorer in the PSAC, had another outstanding game for The Haven.
He scored his 33 points off of 11-of-17 (64.7%) shooting from the field and 10-of-12 (83.3%) shooting from the free throw line.
Hepburn's 14 rebounds were a new career-high, as he notched his second double-double of the season.
The Bald Eagles trailed 46-27 at the halftime break, thanks to an 11-0 WCU run to close the half.
LHU trailed by as many as 20 points in the second half, but the Bald Eagles kept on battling and clawed their way back into the game.
With 3:33 to play, The Haven cut the Golden Ram lead to just nine, 72-63 when
Terrell Johnson (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter) hit one of his career-high five three-pointers.
LHU was unable to gain the full momentum however, as the two teams traded baskets for the rest of the game.
Johnson scored all 15 of his points off of three-pointers, as he shot 5-for-8 from behind-the-arc.
Coming off of his second double-double of the season last night,
Armandi Marshall (Philadelphia/Olney East) scored five points and grabbed eight rebounds tonight.
Andre Rivers (Philadelphia/Girard College) added five rebounds and six points off of the bench.
Carl Johnson led five Golden Rams in double-figures with 17 points.
The Bald Eagles hit the road to take on two local rivals next weekend. LHU travels to Bloomsburg on Friday (January 11) and Mansfield on Saturday (January 12).
