Men’s Soccer blanks Chestnut Hill, 2-0

Lock Haven records second straight win with shutout of Chestnut Hill in non-conference action

Box Score LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven University men's soccer team (4-5) shutout Chestnut Hill (5-4-2) 2-0 tonight in a non-conference battle.
 
Tyler Weikert's (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) first career goal put Lock Haven up 1-0 in the 23rd minute. Weikert picked up a loose ball that deflected off a defender and drilled a curving shot behind Chestnut Hill goalie James Jackson from 25 yards out.
 
The pace picked up in the second half of the physical match, but Lock Haven was awarded a penalty shot in the 81st minute.
 
Jacob Oldaker (Elliottsburg, Pa./West Perry) calmly beat the goalie to his right, giving LHU the important insurance goal.
 
The win was the second straight the Bald Eagles, who got a tremendous defensive effort from everyone on the field.
 
Lock Haven goalie Jonathan Howitt (Painted Post, N.Y./Corning Painted Post-East) made four saves.
 
Lock Haven returns to action on Friday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. when the Bald Eagles host California (Pa.) in PSAC action.
