Box Score EDINBORO, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team (6-15, 3-14 PSAC) dropped a tough road matchup with Edinboro (17-4, 14-3 PSAC), 69-61 this afternoon in PSAC West action.

Lock Haven got off to a slow start, as the Lady Eagles trailed Edinboro, 16-0 just 6:44 into the game.

The Lady Eagles did not allow the slow start to affect them however, and LHU battled back into the game.

The Lady Eagles went on multiple runs throughout the remainder of the period, including a 5-0 run to close out the half.  The 5-0 LHU run was capped off by a Hannah Gildea (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) three-pointer, which gave The Haven its first lead of the game, 37-35 with 22 seconds to play in the opening frame.

Gildea, who was coming off of a career-high 23 points Wednesday against Mercyhurst, scored eight points in the first half today.

Kacie Hershey (Cochranville, Pa./Octorara) netted a team-high nine points in the half.

The second half featured seven ties and three lead changes, as the two teams battled back-and-forth for much of the period.

The game was tied at 55-55 with 7:28 to play, but Edinboro sealed the win with a 14-6 run to close the game.

Hershey finished with a team-high 13 points and added eight rebounds.

Gildea and Sami Lane (Montoursville, Pa./Loyalsock) each finished with 12 points on the afternoon. 

Marrysa Moyer (Altoona, Pa./Mansfield Univ.) scored six points and grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with four steals and three assists.

Emily Daugherty (Laughlintown, Pa./Ligonier Valley) added seven points and six rebounds off the bench.

Kiara Brown led Edinboro with 25 points and Aignee Freeland scored 15 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for EU.

The Lady Eagles are back in action on Wednesday, February 13, when The Haven travels to Slippery Rock for a PSAC West matchup.  Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
