LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University women's basketball team is set for a return trip to the postseason. The Bald Eagles will open their playoff run tonight at home vs. East Stroudsburg in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) First Round contest.
Tonight's opening tip is set for 6 p.m. in LHU's Thomas Fieldhouse.
The Bald Eagles are calling for a 'WHITE OUT,' so wear white tonight #HavenNation.
Tonight's home playoff contest will mark Lock Haven's first home playoff game in 28 years. The Bald Eagles last played at home in the postseason on February 26, 1991, a 93-74 PSAC tournament quarterfinal win over California (Pa.) University that helped LHU advance to the PSAC semifinals.
This marks Lock Haven's first PSAC Tournament appearance since the Bald Eagles made back-to-back appearances during 2015-16 and 2014-15 seasons.
Lock Haven is the No. 4 seed and ESU is the No. 5 seed for the tournament. The winner of tonight's game will meet No. 1 seed Kutztown in the quarterfinals Wednesday night.
LHU enters tonight's game with a 14-13 overall record. The 14 wins are the most since the Bald Eagles won 17 during the 2005-06 campaign. During the regular season, Lock Haven was 9-11 in PSAC action.
ESU is 12-15 overall and went 9-11 in PSAC action during the regular season.
The two teams split the two-game regular season series. On January 9 at East Stroudsburg, the Warriors won 81-60. Most recently, Lock Haven downed ESU at home on February 13, 58-55 in a thriller.
Leading the way for Lock Haven all year has been its balanced scoring approach.
Ahnera Parker leads LHU with 13.3 points per game and she is one of two players averaging in double figures, as sharp-shooter
Rileigh Devine adds 12.5 points per game. Earlier this season, Devine broke the single-season school record for 3's and she's now just five away from the tying the all-time career record (Devine, 137 // School Record, 142). Freshman-sensation
