LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Lock Haven Women's Track and Field team headed down the river to compete at Bucknell University at the Bison Opener on Saturday (Dec. 7).
The track team started off the season with a few stellar performances by multiple athletes.
Samantha Trench started the Bald Eagles off hot, placing sixth in the 60-meter hurdles, and qualified for the PSAC Championship Meet with a time of 9.23, which is fifth all-time in Lock Haven history. Trench also competed in the High Jump, clearing a mark of 1.50-meters (4' 11").
Aubrey Sechrist started her final track campaign off well, earning third in the 500 meters with a time of 1:22.66. Additionally, Sechrist finished fourth in the Mile with a time of 5:23.96, good for a personal best.
Reagan Irons was the Bald Eagles' top finisher in the field events with an eighth-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.55 meters (5' 01"). Irons finished second among Division II athletes.
Other notable marks were Havanna Gordon in the 200-meter, placing ninth with a time of 26.69.
Megan Mengel placed fifth in the 300-meter with a time of 44.76.
In the Weight Throw,
Alyssa VanGorder placed eleventh with a mark of 41 feet, 11.25 inches.

The Lock Haven Women's Track and Field team will be competing next weekend (Friday, Dec. 13, and Saturday, Dec. 14) at the River Hawk Early Season Multi & Invite at Susquehanna University.
