LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Dean Coleman-Newsome of the Lock Haven men's basketball team was tabbed the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East Defensive Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday, Dec. 22.
The honor is the third PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week for the Bald Eagles this season.
The first year Bald Eagle finished with week with five steals and two blocks, while leading The Haven to its first conference victory on the year.
In the victory over Slippery Rock, Coleman-Newsome finished with a block and two steals to help lead the Bald Eagles to a thrilling 100-93 overtime stunner.
Against California (Pa.) Coleman-Newsome had a block and three steals while the Bald Eagles held Cal. (PA) to only 63 points on the afternoon.
The Haven enters Christmas break at 5-6 overall and 1-3 in PSAC play.
