CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Lock Haven women's outdoor track and field team opened the 2025 outdoor season with a busy two days (Fri. – Sat., March 21-22) of action at the Lee University Invitational in Cleveland, Tennessee.
 
Overall, The Haven women turned in a number of strong individual efforts in the outdoor opener, and those performances led to victories and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships qualifying marks.
 
PSAC Automatic Qualifiers
Nicole Carroll (800m and 1500m), Aubrey Sechrist (800m and 1500m), Claire Hauser (800m and 3000m steeplechase), Alyssa VanGorder (Hammer Throw), Maria Puglia (Javelin Throw), Clarissa Davis (Shot Put), and Reagan Irons (High Jump)
 
Friday Highlights:
Leading the way on Friday was Maria Puglia, who claimed victory in the javelin throw. She was first of 16 and her mark of 122-00 was a PSAC championship qualifying throw.
 
Alyssa VanGorder finished second in the hammer throw with a PSAC toss of 150-08.
 
The Haven women hit three PSAC qualifying marks in the 800-meter run. Nicole Carroll was fourth of 36 in 2:16.74 and Aubrey Sechrist was fifth in 2:17.09. Claire Hauser ran 2:22.02 in the event Friday.
 
Reagan Irons finished fifth in the triple jump (34-05.00) and Elizabeth Shultz ran 26.58 at 200 meters to finish 10th. At 10,000 meters, Kaydence Strange cracked the top-10 (9th) with a run of 40:16.58.
 
Saturday Highlights:
Leading the way today (Saturday, March 22) was Hauser and Irons as they both finished second in their respective events. In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Hauser finished with a PSAC and personal-best time of 12:09.06, and in the high jump Irons finished with a PSAC jump of 5-04.50.
 
The squad of Sydney Stahl, Makayla Grace Weber, Elizabeth Shultz and Lillian Bradley finished second-place in the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 4:05.91.
 
Shultz added another medal performance in the 400-meter with a personal best time of 59.23, finishing third.
 
The duo of Carroll and Sechrist recorded a pair of PSAC times for the second day in a row, this time in the 1500-meter with finished sixth and eighth, posting times of 4:46.57 and 4:47.37, respectively.
 
Clarissa Davis adds the last PSAC mark from this impressive meet for The Haven, as she finished fourth in the shot put with a PSAC distance of 39-03.75.
 
Weber finished in the top-five in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:08.61.
 
Up Next for Lock Haven:
The Bald Eagles return to action on Friday (March 28) and Saturday (March 29) when they compete in the two-day Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna University.
