RESULTS LINK –River Hawk Open, Nittany Lion Open
UNIVERSITY PARK/SELINSGROVE, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's track and field team opened the New Year by sending athletes to the Nittany Lion Open (Penn State) and River Hawk Invite (Susquehanna) on Saturday, Jan. 17.
The Bald Eagles returned to competition for the first time since Dec. 6 (Bison Open & Multi), which kicked off the 2025-26 indoor track and field season.
The afternoon was highlighted by PSAC qualifying marks, program top-5 marks and 10 top-5 finishes.
Nittany Lion Open Highlights:
- Eric Zalar hit a PSAC Qualifying mark with a 18.2-meter throw.
- Josiah Schans' PSAC qualifying time of 35.18 in the 300m is good enough for third all-time in program history. He also hit a PSAC mark in the 60m hurdles (8.11).
- Myka Simmons finished with a pair of Lock Haven top-5 all-time marks as he ran 22.11 in the 200m and 7.01 in the 60m, which rank fourth and fifth in program history, respectively.
- Ridge Snyder finished the 600m in third place (1:22.69), which ranks third all-time in program history.
- Jakob Rager notched a pair of PSAC Qualifying marks in the 3,000m (8:41.59) and the mile (4:22.09).
-Owen Hibell (4:22.34) and Brayden Friar (4:22.82) also added PSAC qualifying times in the mile.
River Hawk Invite Highlights:
- Ben Gusciora hit a PSAC mark in the high jump (1.93).
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles return to competition on Saturday, Jan. 24 and will travel to Bucknell to compete in the Gulden Invite.
