LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Lock Haven women's track and field team turned in a strong showing this weekend, highlighted by multiple top finishes and PSAC qualifying marks across several events at the Bison Challenge, hosted by Bucknell.
Leading the way,
Reagan Irons captured first place in the high jump, clearing 1.59 meters (5-2.5) to secure her spot at the PSAC Championships. The Bald Eagles also dominated the 4x400-meter relay, as the Lock Haven "A" squad -
Alexanne Fite, Makayla Weber,
Nicole Carroll, and
Elizabeth Shultz - claimed victory with a time of 4:08.50, marking the team's top relay performance of the season.
In the field events,
Clarissa Davis continued her consistent year with a PSAC mark and fourth-place finish in the shot put, posting a throw of 12.32 meters (40-5).
On the track, several Bald Eagles added PSAC-qualifying performances. Weber sprinted to a time of 9.43 seconds in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles, while Shultz earned a PSAC mark in the 400 meters, clocking 1:00.25 and taking seventh overall. Carroll also notched a conference mark in the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.13, and
Kelci Carle ran 1:25.04 in the 500 meters, placing fifth in the event.
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles are back in action next weekend (Friday & Saturday, Feb. 6-7) and will send athletes to the River Hawk Friday Showdown, Blue & Orange Invite and Sykes-Sabock Invitational.
