Men’s Track & Field shines on Day 1 of the PSAC Indoor Championships

Strong performances propel Lock Haven on Day 1 of the 2025-26 PSAC Championships

PSAC CHAMPIONSHIPS (DAY 1)

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lock Haven men's indoor track & field team was loaded with strong performances on day one of the 2025-26 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships at Lehigh University on Saturday (Feb. 28).

Eric Zalar earned a silver medal and All-PSAC honors in the Weight Throw. Zalar's throw of 65-7.5 (20.00m) reached an NCAA Division II provisional mark.

Jakob Rager, Sam Wible, Anden Aitkins and Gavin Furey received All-PSAC honors and second place in the Distance Medley. The quartet finished the race in 10:09.82.

Josiah Schans broke the Lock Haven 60m Hurdles record for the fourth straight week. Schans qualified for Sunday's (Feb. 28) finals by finishing with the fastest time of 7.97. Matt Reinard will also see tomorrow's finals. Reinard ran an 8.37.

Young Bald Eagles turned in impressive performances in the 5000m. Freshman Kristian Mizdail found the podium with a fourth-place time of 15:19.54. Brayden Frair (Freshman) earned a 10th place in the distance event by finishing in 15:32.53. Owen Hibell took 13th with a 15:41.79.

Another freshman who impressed was Myka Simmons. Simmons ran an NCAA Division II provisional mark of 21.95 in the 200m. Simmons also finished the 60m in 6.92. Simmons will compete in the finals of both events on Sunday.

Benjamin Warburton finished 14th in Long Jump by reaching 21-8 (6.60m). Cameron Lewis ran the 400m in 51.47 to take 15th.

Lock Haven currently stands in fourth place out of the 13 competing schools with 21 team points.

Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles will return for Day 2 of the PSAC Championships at Lehigh University on Sunday (Mar. 2).
