BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Lock Haven men's wrestling team is set to compete at the 2026 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, March 6-7 at Buffalo University's Alumni Arena.
The Bald Eagles are seeking their fourth MAC team title in five years and will look to go back-to-back for the second time.
The 2019-20 season marked Lock Haven's debut campaign in the Mid-American Conference. Since then, the Bald Eagles have crowned 11 individual MAC champions, and The Haven has won team titles in 2022, 2023 and 2025.

MAC Pre-Seeds
No. 30
Avery Bassett leads the way for The Haven after earning the top seed at 174 pounds. No. 22
Wyatt Henson and No. 21
Lucas Kapusta both earned No. 2 seeds at 141 and 149 pounds, respectively.
Tucker Hogan (197, No. 3),
Gable Strickland (133, No. 4),
Nick Stampoulos (157, No. 5) and
Sam Gautreau (184, fifth) also earned top-5 seeds.
Kade Sottolano came in at eighth at heavyweight.
Strickland looks to regain the throne at 133 after winning the title in 2023 and 2024, while Henson will look to three-peat his individual title at 141.
NCAA DI ALLOCATIONS
The NCAA announced qualifier allocations for the 2026 NCAA Championships and the MAC was awarded 27 total NCAA championship qualifying spots stretched across the 10 weight classes.

2025-26 Regular Season
The Haven concluded the 2025-26 regular season with a 13-5 overall record and 6-1 mark in the MAC, finishing second in the Eastern Division.
Strickland, Henson, Kapusta all earned MAC East Wrestler of the Week during the year, while Strickland, Henson and Bassett went over 100 victories in their careers. Head Coach
Scott Moore also earned his 100th career victory as the leader of The Haven.
LH went 4-1 at home and won nine straight matches from Jan. 4 to Feb. 5.

The 2026 NCAA Division I Men's Wrestling Championships will be held at Rocket Mortgage Areana in Cleveland, Ohio, from March 19–21, 2026, featuring 33 wrestlers in each of the 10 weight classes competing in a double-elimination format.
