Jerry Swope (Wrestling – Athlete)
A three-time NCAA DI All-American wrestler at Lock Haven, Swope finished third in 1964, fifth in 1965, and third in 1966. Swope is one of only seven wrestlers in the history of the NAIA tournament to win the NAIA national championship four times (1963-66). Swope was a PSAC Champion three times for the Bald Eagles.
 
As the head wrestling coach at Millersville University (1969-1984), Swope compiled a career dual meet record of 133-83-3 and coached five Millersville wrestlers to DIII titles. At Millersville, he started the Belles Invitational Tournament, now called the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic.
 
Swope is a member of several Halls of Fame, including the Millersville University Hall of Fame, PIAA, NAIA, PWCA, and the Lock Haven Wrestling Hall of Fame. A native of Lock Haven, he won two PIAA titles as a high school wrestler.
