The Lock Haven University wrestling team is set to host Michigan State on Friday, February 12 at 7 p.m. in Thomas Fieldhouse.
The Bald Eagles enter the match at 7-9 overall (2-3 Eastern Wrestling League).
Michigan State is 1-12 overall (1-7 Big Ten) and enters Friday's dual coming off the Spartans' only dual win of the season. MSU beat Northwestern on January 31, 19-15.
On Friday, LHU will be looking for its first-ever win over Michigan State. Friday's match marks the fourth all-time meeting between the two schools and MSU leads the series 3-0.
The two teams last met on December 3, 2011 and the Spartans won 30-6. Highlighting the match for LHU was
Bobby Rehm, who picked up his first collegiate win in the dual, a 9-6 decision at 125 pounds.

Neff named EWL Athlete of the Week:On Monday, February 8,
Dan Neff (R-Sr., 149) was named this week's Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) Athlete of the Week. On Thursday (Feb. 4), Neff extended his win streak in a big way. Since returning to 149 pounds on December 17, where he was a Division I All-American last season, Neff has gone 14-0. Neff picked up a huge win downing Pat Lugo, ranked as high as No. 12 in some national polls. Neff beat Lugo 7-3, taking him down three times in the first period. Neff's win at 149 kept the Bald Eagles in the match vs. perennial PSAC power Edinboro early.
Rehm named last week's EWL Athlete of the Week:Last week (Monday, February 1),
Bobby Rehm (R-Sr., 133) was named the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) Athlete of the Week. Rehm went 2-0 and collected his 100th career win at Clarion. Rehm became the 18th wrestler to join LHU's 100-win club. His 100th win came in dominating fashion, as he picked up a first-period tech fall, 18-0 (2:42; vs. Roshaun Cooley). The bonus points helped Lock Have down EWL rival Clarion. Rehm capped a 2-0 week for the Bald Eagles, picking up a 4-2 win in the dual with Cleveland State (vs. Evan Cheek).

NCAA Coaches' Panel Rankings:On Thursday, January 21, the NCAA released the first of four NCAA wrestling coaches' panel rankings for the 2015-16 season. The final rankings will be used as part of the selection process for NCAA Championships qualifiers.
Dan Neff was ranked No. 22 at 149 in the initial listing.
Last time out:Several members of the LHU wrestling team competed at Saturday's (Feb. 6) Edinboro Open. Leading the way for the Bald Eagles was
David Sheesley and
Aaron McKinney. Sheesley went 3-2 and finished fourth at 125 pounds. McKinney was 5-1 and finished fifth at 157 pounds. The five wins push McKinney to 99 career wins, just one away from becoming the 19th member of LHU's 100-win club. Competing unattached at 141 pounds,
Ronnie Perry finished fifth after going 6-1.
Last time in dual action:Last Thursday (Feb. 4), LHU battled perennial EWL-power Edinboro in a thriller. Lock Haven pushed the pace in every match and the Bald Eagles came away with four wins on the night, including
Dan Neff's 14th straight, but in the end Edinboro picked up a hard-fought 21-13 victory over The Haven. Along with Neff, Lock Haven got wins from
Cody Wheeler,
Tyler Wood and
Phil Sprenkle.
