Women’s Track & Field impresses at Bison Open & Multi

The Bald Eagles competed at Bucknell University’s Bison Open & Multi on Friday and Saturday.

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lock Haven women's track and field team returned to Bucknell University to compete in the Bison Open & Multi on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 31-Feb. 1. Weekend action took place inside Bucknell's Gerhard Fieldhouse.
 
The afternoon was filled with conference marks, personal bests and program top-ten finishes.

Running Highlights
Samantha Trench, on the first day, ran a personal best and third all-time 9.17 (PSAC) in the 60-meter hurdle, earning her second place.
 
The duo of Gwen Lloyd and Claire Hauser raced the mile, placing fourth and fifth, respectively. Lloyd ran a season-best time of 5:24.04 and Hauser had a personal-best time of 5:25.09
 
Aubrey Sechrist and Nicole Carroll were a dynamic one-two punch in the 1000-meter run and finished in first and second place, respectively. Sechrist ran a 3:07.21 and Carroll ran a time of 3:07.40. Both Sechrist and Carroll are now featured in the program's top-10 1000-meter runs.
 
The women's DMR team (Carroll, Sechrist, Elizabeth Shultz and Claire Hauser) ran to 12:42.75, earning fourth place.
 
The 4x400-meter team (Sechrist, Carroll, Hauser and Makayla Grace Weber) ran a 4:15.78, earning third place.
 
Field Event Highlights
Irons and Trench earned second and third place in the High Jump. Trench jumped to another personal best, with a mark of 1.54 meters (5-00.0), while Irons secured a mark of 1.59 meters (5-02.5) (PSAC).
 
In the shot put, Davis threw a season-high 12.21 meters (40-00.75) (PSAC), earning her fifth place. Mallory Eck achieved a personal best with a throw of 13.28 meters (43-07.00), securing ninth place.
 
Next up for The Haven:
The Bald Eagles return to action on Saturday, Feb. 8 and will travel to Utica, Pennsylvania to compete in the Blue & Orange Invite.
