PSAC releases Women’s Volleyball Preseason Coaches’ Poll; Bald Eagles open season on Sept. 5

With the 2025 Lock Haven women’s volleyball season on the horizon, the PSAC announced the preseason coaches’ poll.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the Lock Haven women's volleyball team, the start of the 2025 season is on the horizon. The Bald Eagles open the season by traveling to North Canton, Ohio to compete in the Hall of Fame City Challenge on Friday & Saturday (Sept 5-6).
 
PSAC Coaches Preseason Poll:
In the Eastern Division, Shepherd University earned the top spot with four first-place votes, edging out East Stroudsburg and Shippensburg, who each collected two first-place votes to take second and third, respectively. Bloomsburg came in fourth, followed by Millersville, West Chester, Lock Haven and Kutztown.
 
The Western Division projects another tight race, as Gannon University secured the preseason No. 1 ranking with four first-place votes. Indiana (Pa.) was close behind in second with three first-place votes, while Clarion claimed third. Seton Hill, last season's surprise postseason qualifier, earned the fourth slot and one first-place vote. Pitt-Johnstown, Edinboro, Slippery Rock and California (Pa.) rounded out the division rankings.
 
The PSAC Championship is set for Nov. 20–22, hosted by the highest remaining seed following quarterfinal play.

A look back at 2024
In 2024, Kraft returned for his second season as the Lock Haven women's volleyball head coach after spending the spring as an assistant coach at NCAA DI Penn State.
 
The Bald Eagles finished the season with a 6-18 overall mark and 4-10 record in conference play.
 
Lock Haven returns its leader in kills in Reagan Irons (176) and digs in Natalie Acevedo (357).  
 
The Haven will look to return to its postseason form from 2023, when the program secured its first trip to the PSAC Championship Tournament since 2015.
 
The Road Ahead:
The Bald Eagles will open their campaign at the Hall of Fame City Challenge in North Canton, Ohio, facing Saginaw Valley on Friday, Sept. 5, followed by a matchup vs. Walsh (Ohio) the same evening. The tournament continues Saturday, when The Haven takes on Lake Erie.
 
Lock Haven heads to West Virginia Wesleyan for the WVWC Tournament on Sept. 12-13 and will face Belmont Abbey, West Virginia Wesleyan, Virginia Union and Ursuline.
 
The Bald Eagles are set to host the Bald Eagle Classic at Thomas Fieldhouse, taking on Glenville State, Edinboro and Goldey-Beacom from Sept.19-20.
 
The first away PSAC contest is Sept. 23 at Bloomsburg, followed by league matches at Seton Hill (Sept. 26) and California (Pa.) (Sept. 27).
 
October sees a string of key conference games, with Thomas Fieldhouse home dates against Shippensburg (Oct. 3), Shepherd (Oct. 4), Bloomsburg (Oct.14), East Stroudsburg for Homecoming (Oct. 17) and Kutztown (Oct. 18).
 
The regular season concludes with a road swing through East Stroudsburg (Oct.31), Kutztown (Nov. 1), Shippensburg (Nov. 7) and Shepherd (Nov. 8). The home finale is Nov. 14 against Millersville, before the team celebrates Senior Day versus West Chester on Nov.15 at Thomas Fieldhouse.

2025 Recruiting Class:
Coach Kraft and the Bald Eagles announced the addition of 11 newcomers to the program in 2025.
 
The incoming class features nine freshman and two transfers from Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Florida, Virgina and Canada.
